The Building

This is a lively cultural centre in the middle of Carmarthen town which offers a variety of activities and resources. Since opening in August, Caffi’r Atom has already been extremely popular, offering tasty breakfasts and lunches. Famous for its enormous milkshakes and hot chocolates, Caffi’r Atom is open from 9 until 16:30, Monday to Saturday.

First Floor

On the top floor, in Y Gofod, there is a lovely comfortable lounge with a number of leather sofas, easy-chairs and bean bags. It has a large screen on the wall for watching games, films and television or for playing computer games. There is a study corner at the back of the room.

This is the home of Menter Gorllewin Sir Gâr and Cymru FM radio studio.

Concerts and a variety of entertainment can be held in Y Gofod, as well as on the ground floor of Yr Atom.

Ground Floor

Behind the café is the Welsh Language Centre. There are seven rooms available for hire. They are named after characters in The Black Book Of Carmarthen.

There are two meeting rooms here, Taliesin and Glewlwyd Gafaelfawr, and Mynach which is suitable for office work or meetings for up to 4 people.

Caffi’r Atom can offer an evening menu, or sandwiches and buffet during meetings.

There is a kitchen on the ground floor.

Myrddin is home to Cylch Meithrin Myrddin in the mornings, and the room can be hired in the afternoon or combined with Pryderi and Arthur rooms.
